Box Score Marauders eclipse century mark in win over rival Kentucky State
WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Marauders had their best offensive output in over four years with Saturday night's 118-80 win over rival Kentucky State.
Taking on the SIAC's best offense in Kentucky State, the Marauders showed their own scoring capabilities throughout the game.
With the score tied 20-20 at the 14:33 mark of the first half, CSU went on a 8-0 capped off by a fast break dunk from
Jeremy Brown. After a KSU basket,
Robert Konteh slammed home another dunk for CSU and a
Markese McGuire basket on the Marauder's next possession upped the lead to 32-22 at the 10:26 mark. The Marauder lead ballooned to as many as 28 points in the second half before CSU settled for a 67-46 lead at the break.
With a comfortable lead, CSU continued to drain shots in the second half. Back-to-back baskets from
Jermaine Crowder put CSU up, 84-56, with 14:53 to play. Konteh converted a traditional three-point play to give CSU its largest lead of the night, 105-66, with 8:23 left on the clock and the Marauders were able to cruise to the victory.
CSU held a 33-0 in points scored off of turnovers. The CSU reserves also played a crucial role in the victory, outscoring the KSU bench by 29 points.
KSU had no answer for CSU's
Dwight Richards, Jr., who finished with a season-high 31 points and 9 rebounds. The junior from Fort Wayne, Indiana was 8 for 16 from the field and made all 10 free throw attempts. Crowder and McGuire scored 14 points each. Brown recorded 11 points and 8 rebounds. Konteh also had 11 points to go along with 7 rebounds.
Dymiere Finch had sensational night as a distributor with a career-high 12 assists.

Joseph Price said. "I was really proud of the effort and energy that our players maintained throughout the game."
With the win, the Marauders improve to 7-12 overall and 4-6 in SIAC play.
Julius Barton Led the Thorobreds with 24 points and 7 rebounds. The loss drops KSU to a 6-11 ledger with a 5-5 mark in conference play.
Central State will make the short trip to play Cedarville University on Tuesday at 7:30 pm.

- - With tonight's result, CSU and KSU are tied in the all-time series, 54-54.
