Box Score Marauders earn crucial SIAC win with 71-61 victory over Paine College
AUGUSTA, Georgia - Playing the final game of a 3-game southern road trip, the Central State Marauders earned an important SIAC victory with a 71-61 win over Paine College on Saturday night.
Eleven players scored for the Marauders.
Keilan Blanks led the CSU starters with 10 points.
Jermaine Crowder came off the bench to finish with 10 points and 6 rebounds.
Markese McGuire chipped in with 9 points.
The Marauders committed just 9 turnovers compared to Paine's 15. CSU also held on a 50-41 edge in rebounding.Â
Paine College was led by Kaderius Compton's 19 points and 13 rebounds. Jared Tate finished with 16 points.Â
CSU overcame a 37% shooting night from the field to bolster their record to 5-3 overall with a 2-1 mark in SIAC play.Â
"Anytime you take care of the ball, your team has a good chance to win," CSU head coach
Joseph Price said. "I thought we made smart decisions tonight and were able to come away with a crucial conference win on the road."
The Marauders will have ten days before they travel to Washington, D.C. to play Washington Adventist University on Tuesday, Dec. 13. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 pm tip.
