1st year head coach
Joseph Price and the Marauders kick off the 2014-15 season this weekend as the team travels to Tiffin, OH to compete in the GLIAC vs. G-MAC Challenge.
Coming off an 18 win season, Central State will rely heavily on returning guards
Masceo Harmon,
Tre' Edwards and forward
Raheem Lemons. Harmon, a 5'8 senior from Memphis, TN, led the G-MAC in both assists (4.3) and steals (3.0) to go along with 10.5 ppg. Edwards, who transferred from Northern Illinois University last season, was 5th in the conference in assists (2.9) and 10th in steals (1.6). Lemons will provide much needed size and physical play for Price, who's roster is dominated by guards. Lemons ranked 18th in conference scoring (11.1) and was 4th in rebounds (7.1). He led the team shooting 57% from the field.
"Our guys have really bought in and worked hard throughout the preseason," Price says. "We are excited to get started this weekend against two quality opponents."
The Marauders will open the season against Wayne State University on Friday at 6 pm. The Warriors are picked to finish 3rd in the GLIAC based on the conference's preseason rankings. On Saturday, CSU will face tournament host Tiffin University at 9 pm.Â
