Box Score Tiffin, OH - Opening the season at the GLIAC vs. G-MAC Challenge in Tiffin, OH, the Central State men's basketball team came from behind to edge Wayne State University, 69-68 on Friday night.

Wayne State got off to a good start thanks to the backcourt play of Clark Bishop and Gavin Toma. The two combined for 17 points in the first half to give Wayne a 36-31 edge going into the break. The Warriors built on their lead early in the second half, leading by as many as 10. With 3:16 remaining, the Marauder's found themselves down 68-60. Desperately in need of stops on the defensive end, CSU did not allow the Warriors to score a single point for the rest of the game as the offense finished on a 9-0 run, taking the lead with 40 seconds remaining on a layup from Antone Byrd.

"We got some key steals down the stretch to get back into the game," CSU head coach Joseph Price said. "Our guys really battled and fought hard on the boards, none bigger than on the last possession of the game."

After a missed CSU free throw, 3-point attempts by Wayne State's Tomas and George Spencer were unsuccessful in the final seconds as Price and the Marauders earned their first win of the season.

"Tonight was a good win. Any win is big," Price said. "I am happy for our guys especially since we had a few guys who played through injuries and showed their toughness on the court."

After spraining his ankle in the first half, senior Masceo Harmon scored 14 of his game high 18 points in the second stanza. He also picked up two steals in the last 3 minutes resulting in CSU points on the other end.

"Masceo took over the game in the second half while dealing with a bad ankle. It was very heroic," Price said. "He really changed the game."

Raheem Lemons picked up a double-double in the victory with 15 points and 13 rebounds, including the last rebound of the game as time expired to help seal the outcome. Tre' Edwards chipped in with 13 points. Coming off the bench, Hosie Smith Jr. finished with a game high 4 blocked shots to go along with 7 points.

CSU dominated the Warriors in points scored in the paint with a 28-14 edge. The Marauders also held a 18-5 advantage in points scored off of turnovers.

The Warriors, which fell to 0-1 on the young season, were led by Toma's 17 points and 3 assists.
