Coach Devin Walker announced the hiring of Assistant Coach Robert Bowling in November of 2025.  Coach Bowling began building his coaching foundation while still competing at the collegiate level. During the summer of 2019, while playing volleyball at Juniata College, Bowling served as a coach with Vegas United Volleyball Club, gaining valuable experience working with developing athletes and contributing to high-level club training environments.

Following the completion of his collegiate career in 2022, Bowling transitioned fully into coaching. In the spring of 2023, he joined Olentangy Orange High School as Head Junior Varsity A Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach, where he helped support player development and program growth.

Bowling then accepted the Head Coaching position for the girls’ volleyball program at Columbus Academy. Under his leadership during the Fall 2023 season, the program achieved its best record in five years, highlighted by three student-athletes earning All-Conference honors. His ability to cultivate competitive success while fostering individual player development quickly established him as a rising leader in the coaching ranks.

In the spring of 2024, Bowling continued expanding his experience by serving in a volunteer coaching role at Hilliard Davidson High School. He later returned to Olentangy Orange High School for one season as Head Coach, further strengthening his reputation for building culture, accountability, and competitive excellence.

Bowling now brings his energy, technical knowledge, and commitment to student-athlete development to the Men’s and Women’s Volleyball programs at Central State University, where he continues to mentor athletes both on and off the court.
