Head Coach Travis Lewis is thrilled to welcome RJ Walker to the Marauder basketball staff. A rising star in the coaching ranks, Walker brings a unique combination of playing experience, elite player development expertise, and coaching leadership across multiple levels of the game.
A product of the JUCO and NCAA Division III circuits, Walker’s journey as a student-athlete shaped his tenacity and basketball IQ. After two years of college ball, he seamlessly transitioned into coaching, quickly earning the role of Associate Head Coach at the high school level, where he helped develop winning culture and discipline.
Walker went on to make a major impact on the grassroots scene, leading a high-level 16U AAU program as Head Coach for two seasons. His ability to connect with young athletes and prepare them for the collegiate level led to several of his players earning scholarship opportunities.
For the past two years, Walker served as an Assistant Coach at Garrett College, where he focused on player development, recruiting strategy, and game preparation—contributing to one of the region’s most competitive JUCO programs.
A student of the game and a true technician, RJ also completed a high-impact internship with renowned NBA skills trainer Jordan Lawley (JLawBball), sharpening his knowledge of advanced skill development techniques used by today’s top pros.
RJ Walker brings passion, precision, and a relentless drive for excellence. His well-rounded background and modern approach to development make him a powerful addition to the Central State coaching staff, as the Marauders continue their pursuit of championship-level performance.
