Athletic Director Kevicia Brown Named to MOAA Board

CLEVELAND - The Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) will welcome the following individuals to its Board of Directors following the 2025 Symposium – Kevicia Brown (Central State University), Anthony Henderson (Hampton University), Doug Knuth (Southern Utah University), Patty Medina (American University), and Sailor Sinclair (University of Texas at San Antonio). 

Kevicia Brown has served as Central State University's director of intercollegiate athletics since February of 2023. Brown previously served as associate athletics director for internal operations and senior woman administrator (SWA) for The Citadel since October of 2021. While at The Citadel, Brown was responsible for overseeing sports performance and compliance as well as serving as sport administrator for assigned sports.

Brown also held the NCAA Athletic Diversity and Inclusion Designee (ADID) appointment and coordinated with the Chief Title IX Coordinator on NCAA requirements for Title IX. Brown's partnerships and collaborations on campus included serving on The Citadel's QEP Advising Practices Committee, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and as a CitListen Facilitator for the Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation (TRHT) Center.

Anthony Henderson was appointed the Pirates' director of athletics in February of 2023. He comes to Hampton from Yale University, where he served as the deputy director of athletics. In this role, he was a member of the athletics senior leadership team with primary responsibilities of leading all revenue generation and extending the brand and messaging of Yale Athletics through private philanthropy, corporate support, ticket sales, marketing efforts, community engagement, strategic communications, and DEI. Additionally, Henderson was also the sports administrator for the baseball, men's soccer, men's & women's swimming & diving, and women's ice hockey programs.
 
Henderson transitioned to Yale after two-plus years with the William & Mary Tribe, where he served as senior associate athletics director and executive director of athletics advancement. He was a member of the Tribe's senior leadership team, and in addition to overseeing an encompassing advancement operation, he was the sport administrator for the football program.

Doug Knuth has nearly 30 years of intercollegiate athletics experience, including nine years as a Division I director of athletics, and two decades of successful fundraising with a focus on long-term growth. He comes from the University of Nevada where he served as the director of athletics managing 400 student-athletes, 16 athletics programs, and 150 staff and coaches.

Prior to his time at the University of Nevada, Knuth served as the senior associate athletics director for the University of Utah. During his time there he successfully led a team to launch a comprehensive athletics campaign and doubled the Utes' annual fund in five years. Knuth also took a leadership role in the strategic planning process of Utah's $1.2 billion university capital campaign.

Patty Medina currently serves as associate athletics director of student-athlete development and inclusive excellence at American University (AU), a role she assumed in September of 2024. Medina initially joined AU in December of 2023 as associate athletics director for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), a position established two years prior.
 
In her expanded role, Medina continues to be a key member of the senior staff, driving training, education, and support in the areas of student-athlete development and inclusive excellence for student-athletes, coaches, and staff. She also collaborates closely with university administrators and programs to align AU athletics with the institution's broader vision for inclusive excellence and student-athlete success.

Sailor Sinclair is a seasoned compliance professional with extensive experience in collegiate athletics. Currently serving as the Director of Compliance at UTSA Athletics, Sailor oversees day-to-day compliance operations, ensuring adherence to NCAA and American Athletic Conference (AAC) regulations across 14 NCAA Division I sports. He has a strong background in managing compliance documentation, conducting rules education training, and handling NCAA enforcement matters.

Throughout his career, Sailor has held various compliance roles at Texas Tech Athletics, Wyoming University Athletics, and Texas Christian University Athletics. His responsibilities have included managing recruiting activity logs, eligibility certification, and team rosters, as well as leading educational programming for student-athletes, coaches, and stakeholders.

In addition to his compliance roles, Sailor has contributed to MOAA as a Membership Committee member.
