Lofton wins high jump; CSU records ten top five finishes at Mount Olive Trojan Relays


MOUNT OLIVE, North Carolina - Central State recorded ten top five finishes highlighted by Amarianna Lofton's win in the high jump during last weekend's Mount Olive Trojan Relays.


Lofton, who picked up her second win in the high jump during the outdoor season, led the CSU women with a season best mark of 1.66m (5' 5.25). She also recorded a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a pace of 14.76. Kapri Dawkins came in second place in the 400 meter dash with a pace of 56.44. Kaylah Huston ran a time of 1:05.41 for a fifth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles. The team of Jaylin Bradshaw, Dawkins, Michael Addison and Journie Hemsley finished in fourth place in the 4 x 100 meter relays in 4:00.66. All five of CSU's top performances were season-best marks.


On the men's side, the combination of Juwan Rigby, Demari Johnson, James "Myles" Lacking and  Jujuan Hall won the 4 x 400 meter relay with a time of 3:22.49. The 4 x 100 meter relay team of Rigby, Johnson, Lacking and Jeremiah Cadet recorded a time of 41.78 to finish in second. Aden Fisher finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 4.00m (13' 1.5"). Johnson finished third in the 200 meter dash in 21.75. Mitchell Jean Baptiste was fourth in the high jump with a leap of 1.81m (5' 11.25').
