Dashanti Miller leads Lady Marauders to 79-65 win over LeMoyne-Owen
MEMPHIS, Tennessee - The Central State Lady Marauders earned a 79-65 road win over LeMoyne-Owen on Wednesday night behind a career-night from sophomore
Dashanti Miller.
Miller began the night scoring the first five CSU points and propelled her team to a 23-22 lead at the end of the first period. She poured in 17 more points in the second quarter as the Lady Marauders increased the margin to seven, 49-42, at half.
Sparked by a three-pointer and fastbreak basket by
Kailyn Nash, CSU went on a 12-3 run midway through the third quarter and went into the final 10 minutes with a double-digit lead, 61-51. The Lady Marauders remained in control for ther majority of the fourth quarter, stretching the lead to as many as 16 and going on to the 14-point victory.
Miller made eight of 16 field goal attempts and 14 of 20 free throws for a career-high 30 points. She also led all players with 15 rebounds. Nash also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.Â
LOC's Kamryn Night led the Magicians' efforts with 17 points.
With the victory, CSU improves to 9-12 overall and 8-8 in SIAC play. LOC falls to 9-15 on the year and 4-12 in the conference.
The Lady Marauders will be back in action on Saturday at rival Kentucky State University.
