Lady Marauders end regular season with 95-85 road win over Spring Hill

MOBILE, Alabama – The Central State Lady Marauders ended the regular season with a 95-85 road win over Spring Hill College on Monday night.
With the victory, CSU wraps up the regular season with an 11-14 overall record and a 9-10 ledger in SIAC play. SHC fell to 3-22 on the season and 2-17 in conference play.

CSU outscored SHC, 24-19, in the first quarter and took a six point lead into the break. CSU extended their lead to 10 early in the third quarter before a 12-0 run by SHC suddenly had the Lady Marauders trailing by two. The teams exchanged baskets in the final minutes of the third before makes by

Laurene Tere put CSU back up by six entering the final 10 minutes of play.

CSU remained ahead throughout the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 12 on a Miller basket. CSU shooters combined to make four straight three pointers in the final two minutes of the game to help seal the 10-point victory.

Nash led the Lady Marauders with 20 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks. Tere finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Peterson added 15 points and four assists while
Naomi Shorts came off the bench to record 12 points and six assists.

SHC's Tyashia Bostick led all players with a game-high 29 points along with 12 rebounds.

CSU will spend the rest of the week preparing for the upcoming SIAC Tournament in Savannah, Georgia. CSU will enter the tournament as a fifth seed and will play on Monday at 5 pm.

Nash, who leads the conference in scoring and blocks, recorded her ninth game of 20 or more points and eighth double-double of the year. With six blocks on Monday, she finishes the season with 18 multi-block games.
