Central State wins two events; records 12 top ten finishes at Youngstown State
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Central State track & field team combined for 12 top ten finishes while recording two individual victories at this weekend's Youngstown State University College Mid Major.
The CSU men recorded victories in the high jump and the 4 x 400 relay. The team of
Juwan Rigby, Demari Johnson,
Myles Lacking and
Jeremiah Cadet won the 4 x 400 relay with a time of 3:24.89. Freshman Mitchell Jean Baptiste won the high jump with a mark of 1.86m (6'1.25"). Aaron Drumright recorded a ninth place finish in the 500 meter run (1:09.28).
The CSU women combined for nine top ten finishes.
In the 500 meter run, Jrunie Hemsley came in second place with a time of 1:21.45.
Kapri Dawkins finished in fifth (1:21.45) and Mariyah Field came in tenth place (1:33.08).
Amarianna Lofton finished fourth the high jump with a leap of 1.57 m (5'1.75"). She also came in seventh place in the 60 meter hurdles with a pace of 9.40.
Jaylin Bradshaw picked up a pair of top ten finishes, coming in 8
th in the 400 meter run (59.82) and tenth in the long jump (5.11m). Tylar Lightbourn also recorded two top ten finishes. Lightbourn came in eighth in the 60 meter dash (7.92) and tenth in the 200 meter dash (25.90).
CSU will prepare to compete at the Virginia Beach Pre-National Meet on February 10.
