Lady Marauders defeat LeMoyne-Owen, 97-73

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Lady Marauders ended a four-game losing streak with a 97-73 home win over LeMoyne-Owen on Wednesday night.

With the victory, CSU improves to 8-10 on the season with a 7-6 record in the SIAC. LOC falls to 7-13 overall and 4-8 in conference play.
The teams traded baskets for the majority of the first half. With the score tied, 32-32, CSU closed out the half on an 11-0 run while forcing LOC into three turnovers in the final minute of the second quarter.

CSU maintained the momentum in the third quarter, opening the second half on a 22-6 run. CSU led by as many as 27 in the quarter and remained in control with a 68-48 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

CSU maintained its distance throughout the final period of play. The Lady Marauders led by as many as 29 while shooting 60 percent in the final 10 minutes as they cruised to the 24-point win.

Kailyn Nash led all scorer with 19 points.
Abbigail Peterson finished with 18 points.
Dashanti Miller led CSU with 10 rebounds.

CSU held a 37-23 advantage in points scored off turnovers. CSU also outrebounded LOC, 49-39, in the victory.

LOC and CSU will play again on Saturday in Memphis, Tennessee.
