Central State to honor 2022 Marauder Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees on October 7


The Central State University Department of Athletics will honor the 2022 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees on Friday, October 7th during the schools annual Athletic Hall of Fame Luncheon. The event will begin at 1 pm  at the Marriott Dayton Event & Conference Center.

Barbara Aaron - Tennis
Class of 1965... All-American honors... Teamed with Sylvia Hooks to reach finals of 1965 national women's tennis championship...




Early Lawhorn - Football
Class of 1979... Three-time NAIA All-American... Offensive and Defensive Line... 







Hugh Powell - Track & Field
Helped lead team to indoor and outdoor titles in 1993... Finished 5th in 1991 NAIA Outdoor Championship in triple jump (47.06) – All-American honors... Member of 1991 national champion Mile Relay Team (3:08.08) – All-American honors... Finished fourth in 200 meter dash in 1992 NAIA outdoor championships (21.67) – All-American honors... Member of 1992 national champion 1600 Meter Relay Team (3:06.68) – All-American honors... Finished second in 1993 NAIA Outdoor championship in 400 meter dash (46.60) – All-American honors... Finished second in 1993 NAIA Outdoor championship in the 200 meter dash (21.73) – All-American honors... Finished third in 1994 NAIA Outdoor championship in 200 meter dash (21.31) – All-American honors... Won the 1994 NAIA outdoor championship in the 400 meter dash (46.21) All-American honors... Member of 1994 national champion 4 x 400 Meter Relay Team (3:08.34) – All-American honors





Dean Richards - Track & Field
Helped lead team to indoor and outdoor titles in 1993... Finished fourth in 1992 NAIA outdoor championships in high jump (6 11 ½) and in triple jump (49 – 7) – All-American honors... Finished first in 93 NAIA outdoor national championships in triple jump (50' 6 /34") – All-American honors... Finished second in 93 indoor championships in triple jump (49' 2.5) – All-American honors... Finished fourth in 93 indoor championships in high jump (6'10) – All-American honors





Victory Simmons - Football
Standout Linebacker... Earned starting spot as a Freshman... Earned All American honors... Played and started in every game while at CSU... Served as a defensive captain for three years... Invited to the NFL Combine... Signed with Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a free agent... Played with the Dallas Cowboys





Iniquia Snell - Basketball
Scored 1700+ points in four years at CSU... Named All-GMAC in 2014 and 2015... Named HBCU All-American in 2014 and 2015... Led team in scoring and steals in senior season... Was the first recruit by former head coach Sheba Harris





Danaea Williams - Basketball
Was a 1st Team NJCAA All- American before transferring to CSU in 2003...Led the Lady Marauder to their 2005 Division ll Women's Basketball Independent National Championship... While at Central State, she averaged 19 points and nine rebounds in both seasons she played... Led the team in scoring, assist, steals and rebounds.
