Early season struggles continue as Lady Marauders lose to Clark Atlanta, 78-64


 
ATLANTA, Georgia – The Central State Lady Marauders dropped their third straight game, 78-64, to Clark Atlanta on Saturday.

 
CSU is now 1-3 overall and 0-1 in SIAC play while CAU earned their first victory of the year and are now 1-5 on the season and 1-1 in the conference.
 

 
CAU was impressive from the field, converting 29 of 53 shot attempts (54.7%) which included a eight of 17 performance from three point range (47.1%). CSU shooters combined to make 23 of 59 attempts (39%) and made just one of 11 three-point attempts (9.1%).

 
Taking a 18-16 lead into the second quarter, CAU outscored CSU 19-11 in the second frame and 27-14 in the third to take control of the game and cruise to the 14-point win.

 
Corrianna Evans led CAU with 20 points and eight rebounds while Maegan Barkley added 18 points and Atum Morings contributed with 17 points.

 
Lola Chambers led CSU's efforts with 14 points and Kenedi London recorded 13 points.

 
CSU will travel to play Fort Valley State on Monday at 5:30 pm.
