Box Score Lady Marauders beat Salem, 3-0
SALEM, West Virginia -Â The Lady Marauders won at Salem, 3-0, on Friday afternoon.
CSU cruised to a 2-0 lead with a 25-14 first set win and 25-12 second set victory. CSU closed out the match with a 26-24 win in the third set.
CSU opened the match with a 8-0 run and coasted to the first set win. Up 14-10 in the second set, CSU seized full control as kills from
Jazmyne Walker and
Hailey White sparked a 7-0 run and an eventual 13-point margin of victory in the second stanza. Salem came back in a competitive third set and managed to build a 18-14 lead over CSU.Â
Jazmyne Walker led CSU offensively with 12 kills.
Makayla Alia distributed 25 assists and Christina Reyes led all players with 13 digs.Three Salem errors combined with kills from White, Walker and
Makayla Alia propelled CSU to a 20-18 advantage. Facing match point at 24-21, SU came back to score the next three points before a kill by CSU's Daryn Hughes and a SU attacking error gave the Lady Marauders the 3-0 win.
With the victory, CSU improves to 11-5 overall. CSU travels to play at Ashland on Tuesday.
NOTES:
- CSU has earned double-digit victories in a season for the first time as a NCAA Div. II program.
-Friday was the seventh 3-0 win for CSU this season.

Ajanae' Cressey, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nevada, was named SIAC Newcomer of the Week on Tuesday. Cressey has earned SIAC weekly honors three times this season.
