Box Score Lady Marauders lose to Bluefield State

BLUEFIELD, West Virginia– The Central State Lady Marauders were unable to keep pace with Bluefield State, losing 76-55 on Wednesday night.

The out of conference loss drops the Lady Marauders to 9-14 overall. BSU improves to 13-9 overall.

Trailing by two after the first quarter, CSU committed nine turnovers in the second quarter as Bluefield State built their lead up to 39-21 by halftime.

BSU took full control, making over 50% of their field goals to outscore CSU, 26-12, in the third quarter to take a commanding 32 point lead. BSU cruised through much of the fourth quarter on their way to victory.

BSU went 27 of 63 from the field (42.3%) while CSU 20 of 58 shot attempts (34.5%). CSU finished the game with 25 turnovers and were outscored, 29-21, in points off giveaways.

BSU's Alexus Tucker led all scorers with 16 points. Dani Janutolo added 14 points and 12 rebounds.

CSU was paced by
Takyra Gilbert's 13 points and six steals.
Cameryn DuBose finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds.

CSU will try to bounce back on Saturday when they host Miles at 1 pm.
