Lady Marauders beat Tuskegee in overtime

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Lady Marauders came back from an early nine point deficit to beat Tuskegee in overtime, 85-74, on Monday night.

With the win, the Lady Marauders are now 9-13 overall with a 7-7 record in the SIAC. TU falls to 13-10 on the year with a 9-4 record in conference play.

Up by three with 1:19 to play in the extra period, CSU closed the game out on a 9-2 run to seal the victory.

CSU was 33 of 46 from the free throw line while TU made 18 of 30 free throw attempts. CSU also capitalized off of 25 Tuskegee turnovers, holding a 24-13 edge in points scored off giveaways.
CSU senior guard
Takyra Gilbert scored a season-high 27 points along with four assists and four rebounds. With the CSU post players dealing with foul trouble all night,
Shania Kelly stepped up with seven blocks on the night along with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Ashiala Jackson led TU with 13 points and six rebounds.
The Lady Marauders will travel to play at Bluefield State on Wednesday.
