Clark Atlanta beats Central State, 77-70

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Central State Lady Marauders struggled in the second half of Saturday's 77-70 loss to Clark Atlanta.

The loss drops CSU to 4-10 overall with a 2-4 ledger in the SIAC. CAU improves to 5-5 on the season with a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play.
CSU led 24-17 after the first quarter and took a 43-38 lead at half thanks to 12 points from
Takyra Gilbert and 11 points by
Shania Kelly.
The rims shrunk for CSU in the third quarter as the team combined to make one of 14 field goal attempts on their way to being outscored by CAU, 23-6. CAU extended its lead to 16 by the 3:15 mark of the fourth quarter and held off CSU for the seven-point victory.

In addition to their shooting woes in the third period, CSU turned the ball over 26 times to CAU's 16 giveaways.

Kelly finished with a season-high 19 points to lead CSU scorers. Gilbert finished with 15 points and five assists.

CAU was led by N-Mawusi Mitchell's 15 points and five rebounds.

CSU will host rival Kentucky State next Saturday at 1 pm.
