CSU hurdler Juan Scott named Div. II South Region Indoor Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – Central State University hurdler Juan Scott has been named the NCAA Division II South Region Indoor Athlete of the Year as announced Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Scott, a junior from Dayton, Ohio, is currently ranked second nationally in the 60 meter hurdles with a pace of 7.90. His signature victory this season came in last month's Ohio State University Tune-Up when he beat two NCAA Div. I athletes for the individual title.

Juan Scott, the reigning NCAA Div. II 60 meter hurdles national champion, has recorded three victories in the event this season and will attempt to defend his indoor title this week in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Scott becomes the first CSU athlete to earn back-to-back USTFCCCA Regional Athlete of the Year honors.
