WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Lady Marauders of Central State defeated Lane College, 77-45, on Monday night

With the victory, CSU is now 8-13 overall with a 5-7 mark in SIAC play. LC drops to 7-14 on the season with a 6-6 ledger in the conference.

In a low scoring first quarter, CSU managed to end the period on a 8-0 run to take a 14-9 lead. CSU extended its lead to double-figures midway through the second quarter as two Daesjah Ely free throws gave the Lady Marauders a 23-13 lead. CSU closed the half on a 9-0 run and took a comfortable 32-15 lead at the half.

In a low scoring third frame, CSU guard Takyra Gilbert helped CSU maintain control by scoring the team's first six points in the quarter. CSU maintained its 17-point lead, 43-26, as the teams entered the final 10 minutes of play.

CSU ended any hopes of a Lane comeback by erupting for 34 points in the fourth quarter as they cruised to the 32-point win.

CSU finished the night shooting 43.6% from the field while hold LC to a shooting rate of 22.5%.

Gilbert led all players with 27 points. She also tallied nine rebounds, five assists and two steals. Ely finished with 11 points and a season-high five blocks. Jaeda Davis also added 11 points along with three assists. Sandra Guilford chipped in with 10 points.

LC was led by Addie McNeely's 17 points.
