Lady Marauders face LeMoyne-Owen in SIAC Tournament quarterfinal

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - The Central State Lady Marauders will face the Magicians of LeMoyne-Owen in Wednesday's SIAC Tournament quarterfinal.

The Lady Marauders celebrate their SIAC West Division title


The Lady Marauders earned the No. 1 seed in the SIAC West Division, clinching the school's first divisional title since the school began competing exclusively on the NCAA Div. II level. CSU finished the regular season with a 18-7 overall record and a 12-4 mark in conference play. With the luxury of a first round bye, the Lady Marauders had the luxury of watch the first round competition.

SIAC All-Conference guard Ghameerah McCullers talked about the team's focus going into the tournament.

"We are focused on competing and making sure that all our hard work pays off," McCullers said. "All the individual and team accolades that we have accumulated throughout the regular season means more with every game we win in the postseason."

CSU faces a LOC team coming off an impressive 67-53 win over Paine in the first round of the tournament. Four Magicians finished in double-figures led by Teresa Mays' 17 points.

The Lady Marauders swept the regular season series against LOC, including a 72-60 win on Senior Night.

All tournament games will be held in Bill Harris Arena at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
