Lady Marauders win eighth straight with 94-52 victory over Salem

SALEM, West Virginia - The Central State Lady Marauders extended their winning streak to eight games with a lopsided 94-52 victory over Salem University on Sunday.

With the win, the Lady Marauders improve to 9-2 overall. Salem falls to 3-7 ledger on the year.

CSU opened the game on a 16-3 run and never looked back. CSU forced SU into 29 giveaways resulting in a 42-3 edge in points scored off of turnovers. CSU also outrebounded SU, 48-32 and outscored their opponenet, 18-5, in second chance points.

CSU's Jaeda Davis converted 8 of 15 shots to finish with a game-high 21 points. Sierra Harley tallied 20 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds. Takyra Gilbert finished with 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Brooke Spaulding added 12 points off the bench as the Lady Marauders avenged last month's loss to Salem.

The 42-point win is the largest victory margin for CSU this season.

CSU resumes SIAC play this Saturday on the road at Clark Atlanta University.

Notes
The Lady Marauders are undefeated on the road (4-0).

Sunday's game was part of the Joe Manchin Classic. Salem University served as the host site.

CSU tied a season-high with 34 field goals made against Salem.

Jaeda Davis recorded her second game of 20 or more points.

Sierra Harley remains consistent from three point range, converting over 50% of her shots from beyond the arc.

Takyra Gilbert, a transfer from Cincinnati State Community College, is the reigning SIAC Newcomer of the Week.
