Lady Marauders prepare for Joe Manchin Classic

WILBERFORCE, Ohio -  The Central State University women's basketball team is preparing to play Virginia State University and Bluefield State College at the Joe Manchin Classic in Salem, West Virginia this weekend.

On Friday, the Lady Marauders will face Virginia State. With a 3-4 overall mark, CSU hopes to climb back to .500 with a win. Standing in their way will be a VSU team with an impressive 5-1 mark. The Lady Trojans enter Friday's game on a 4-game winning streak.

The Lady Marauders have four players averaging double-figures in scoring. Sophomore Tamara Sellers leads the team with 13.4 points per game. Defensively, the team ranks No. 1 in the SIAC in steals with 14.3 per contest.

VSU is led by senior Nandi Taylor's 17.8 points per game. 

The Lady Marauders meet Bluefield State for the second time this season when the teams meet on Saturday.  In last month's meeting, CSU cruised past the Blues, 81-37.

BSC enters the weekend with an 0-8 record. Tanasia Blake leads the Blues in scoring with 13.6 points per game. 

Both of Central State's contests this weekend are scheduled to tip-off at 12 pm each day.
