Box Score Lady Marauders win fourth in a row with 90-67 win over UrsulineSouth Euclid, OH - With seeding implications for next week's G-MAC Tournament on the line, Central State easily disposed of Ursuline, 90-67, on Saturday night.
With the win, the Lady Marauders avenged a overtime loss to the Arrows back in December. CSU improved to 11-16 overall and clinched the No. 5 seed in the conference tournament. The victory marks CSU's fourth straight win, the longest streak of the season. Ursuline fell to 8-20 overall and are the No. 6 seed entering the tournament.
CSU was paced by 26 point performances from seniors
Jasmine Cooper and
Iniquia Snell. Cooper converted 11 of 13 field goal attempts and grabbed 10 rebounds for her team leading 8th double-double of the season. Her 26 points were a season-high. Freshman guard
Aneisha Hardin came off the bench to score 12 points.
Kourtni Perry led CSU in rebounds with 12 to go along with 10 points.
Erica Huber scored 19 points to lead the Ursuline scoring while Makayla Rosselot chipped in with 13 points.
The Arrows were unable to match up with the Lady Marauders' size. CSU scored 56 points in the paint compared to UC's 30. CSU also held a 17-6 edge in second chance points.
CSU concludes the regular season on the road against non-conference opponent Bluefield State on Monday before heading the the G-MAC Tournament at Cedarville University on Thursday.
