1855Frankfort, KY - Entering Monday on a 3-game winning streak, Central State's attempt at winning 4 straight contests was abruptly halted in a 102-84 road loss to rival Kentucky State.
Central State never led and fell to 6-12 overall. Winning their third straight game, the Thorobreds improved to 11-4 on the season.

The KSU shooters converted from the opening tip. Shaia Horton went 3 of 4 from beyond the arc for 15 first half points. Forward Shaquanda Wiggins hit 7 of 8 shot attempts for 14 in the first as the Thorobreds led 52-41 at half.

After extending their lead to 60-45 in the first 2 minutes and 30 seconds of the second half, KSU went on a 17-3 run to take a commanding 78-50 lead. CSU had no answer for KSU's 54.3% conversion rate from the field. The Thorobreds also dominated from the perimeter, going 8 for 18 compared to CSU's 2 of 13 performance. Kentucky State cruised to the 18 point win and swept the season series between the two schools.

Central State returns to G-MAC competition on Saturday when they travel to conference leading Cedarville. The Yellow Jackets narrowly escaped Wilberforce with a 75-70 overtime win on January 3rd.
