Box Score Lady Marauders tame Tigers for back-to-back wins

Salem, WV - Four players scored in double-figures for CSU in a 93-67 thrashing of Salem International on Thursday.

Putting together back-to-back wins for the first time this season, Central State improved to 5-11 overall and are now 2-5 in G-MAC competition.

Senior Jasmine Cooper carried the CSU offense early on by hitting her first 4 shots as the Lady Marauders led by as many as 14 in the first half before taking a 42-31 advantage into the locker room. Cooper set the pace for her team with 12 points in the opening half.

Central State continued to keep SIU at a distance in the second. A 3 point field goal by Iniquia Snell at the 15:15 mark increaded the lead to 22. Snell would later give the Marauders their largest lead of the night with another conversion from beyond the arc to put CSU up 88-58 with 3:27 to go, allowing her team to cruise to the victory.

The 93 points are the most scored by the Lady Marauders all season. The 26 point win is the largest margin of victory for CSU thus far.

Snell tied for a game-high with 22 points and now needs 22 more to reach the 1500 career point total. Snell also added 9 rebounds and 7 assists to her statline. Cooper finished with a season high 21 points to go along with 9 rebounds. Forward Kourtni Perry continues to play well in the post with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Perry has scored in double figures in 3 of the last 4 games and has grabbed 8 or more rebounds in each of those contests. Amanda Pierce finished with a game-high 12 rebounds and chipped in with 13 points.

The Marauders return home to host Ohio Valley on Saturday at 2 pm.
