Lady Marauders conference struggles continue in latest loss to Trevecca

Wilberforce, OH
– Trevecca Nazarene improved to 4-1 in conference play with a 76-69 win over the Central State women's basketball team on Thursday night.

For the Lady Marauders, the loss dropped them to 1-4 in the G-MAC and 3-10 overall.

TNU never trailed in the first half, leading by as many 12 with 4:16 to go. The Marauders captured the momentum, ending the half on a 11-2 run to cut the TNU lead to 30-27 as both teams headed for the dressing rooms.

CSU took its first lead of the game at the 9:51 mark of the second half after a good layup by D'Aja Turner gave CSU a 55-53 lead. That marked the largest lead of the game for CSU as the team struggled to knock down key free throws down the stretch en route to a 13-27 performance from the line compared to 21-29 performance from the Trojans.
The Trojans were paced by 6 players who scored in double-figures. Helen Mitchner came off the TNU bench to lead the team with 14 points.

Central State's Iniquia Snell led the Marauder scoring for the eighth straight contest, scoring 19 points. Forward Kourtni Perry finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Both teams are in action this Saturday. TNU travels to face Cedarville while Central State's hosts Kentucky Wesleyan (8-5; 4-0) at 2 pm.
