Box Score Snell's shot rims out as CSU falls to KSU

- Central State fell to non-conference rival Kentucky State, 65-64 on Tuesday night.

In a game featuring to HBCUs, Central State fought back from 6 down late in the second half to take a 64-63 lead after a Amanda Pierce free throw. After a Kentucky State timeout, guard Taylor Sanders drove to the basket, absorbed contact and flipped the ball through the basket to give the Thorobreds the 65-64 lead. With 3 seconds remaining, CSU leading scorer Iniquia Snell's midrange jumper rattled around the rim and out as the game ended.

CSU, which dropped to 1-3 on the year, was led by Pierce's 18 points and 10 rebounds. Snell finished with 17 followed by 12 from Jordyn Bond. 

Winning 8 of the last 9 meetings against CSU, the Thorobreds were sparked by 27 points off the bench, including a game high 20 from Breiona Warner. Including her game winning basket, Sanders finished with 10 points as her team improved to a 2-1 mark.

Central State will not see action until the Ben Waterman Classic on Dec. 6. Serving as tournament host, Central State will play Ursuline College in an earlier than normal conference game at 4 pm.
